Our Lodge

In December 2009, we opened the only AGRO ECO-Lodge in Sri Lanka certified for sustainability and social business. Look forward to an exotic stay in our themed bungalows or in one of our guest rooms. On our terraced hillside property of around 3 hectares, only three bungalows, our main house and a yoga hall with a private apartment have been built at large intervals. Our new and 3rd bungalow “Cinnamon Garden”, a loft on a private level, is nearing completion and so we offer each of our maximum of 9 guests, a generous privacy. The space between our organic farmland and the untouched nature, guarantee you a lot of peace and relaxation.

Our Guest Rooms

Our single rooms, equipped with a bedroom and bathroom, are located in the right and left wings of our main building. As an alternative to our luxury bungalows, we would also like to offer individual travelers an affordable way to enjoy the benefits of our AGRO ECO-Lodge. Our restaurant and the Ayurveda area are close by. A shady hammock area under the trees and our chilling zone in the outdoor restaurant invite you to relax. You can reach one of our watercourses via a flight of steps. A small natural pool with a waterfall has formed here in the deep green of the jungle and offers a refreshing way to cool off. The natural cleaner fish provide a successful pedicure :-)

Sabbatical – House-sitting – Retreat – Remote working at “Singharaja Garden”

Twice a year, from 2026 (spring & autumn) and for two months each time, we are offering our entire flat at the Singharaja Garden AGRO & ECO-Lodge. Your stay is set at 60 days, or two months’ rent.

You (max. 2 people/couple) will stay in our spacious, open-plan flat, which features a combined living room and bedroom, a kitchenette, an office, a bathroom and two terraces. The flat also includes a large yoga hall and our two mountain bikes, which we make available for your use.
In addition to our spacious flat, you’ll enjoy our vegetarian/vegan half-board and a daily cleaning service.

Our Bungalows

1. Tea Garden
The chosen location of the bungalow gives you a view over a tea field lined with coconut palms. Once a week, you will have the opportunity to watch some of our tea picking work from the veranda. You have direct access to the spacious natural pool from your bungalow garden. Guests from the “Cinnamon Garden” bungalow can also reach the huge natural pool via a private, screened-off stairway. Generous privacy is therefore guaranteed.

2. Paddy Field
Enjoy the view across the terraced rice fields from your veranda. Watch the herons catch frogs between the green heads of the plants or observe the local farmers tending their fields. There is always something to see from your veranda. From there you have also access to your privat spacious natural pool. The method of building of the pool corresponds to a traditional irrigation system for the adjacent rice fields and guarantees that the pool is regularly flooded with fresh water. A big rest area located near your natural pool invite you for more relaxation.

3. Cinnamon Garden „NEW“
You reach your loft via a small stepped path and on a private hillside location. The integrated huge rock in the wide-open loft and the magnificent view from your partially covered level are the highlights.
If you’re not afraid of the stairs, this is an absolute “must stay”. Via another flight of stairs, you can also reach one of our huge natural pools or simply enjoy the spacious outdoor shower on your own private and spacious level. » MORE INFOS

The three bungalows, built from clay, natural stone and clay bricks, have been furnished to a high standard and in different ways with modern and colonial accents. The “Paddy Field” bungalow also offers enough space for three people (sofa bed) and has a huge private freshwater pool.

Our Restaurant — A Culinary Voyage Of Discovery

Our partially open-plan restaurant with outdoor terrace is our daily meeting place. Every day, our kitchen offers you an insight into the art of Far Eastern cooking. You are welcome to look over the shoulders of our chef or join him on a market shopping trip followed by a cooking course (optional).
Our restaurant does not serve any meat or fish dishes, so we offer ovo-lacto-vegetarian and vegan food throughout.
Our lovingly planted spice and fruit gardens are part of our balanced cuisine. Other vegetables and fruit we need are purchased from small farmers in the neighborhood and the highlands. Naturally in organic quality and only national goods. Food that travels halfway around the world harms the local economy and our environment.
