Food and equipment
For our two-day tour you will need luggage for one night, a backpack for drinking water, possibly binoculars and swimwear. We prefer to stay at the Grand Udawalawe. Here we also take our meals as half board. For the safari we recommend a good sun protection and headgear.

Close to the elephants (Two-day Tour)

The Udawalawe National park covers an area of 310 square kilometers and is still a real insiders’ tip, compared to its famous rival the Yala-National Park. In the park, you can watch elephant herds (about 550 elephants). You can observe water buffalos and a high variety of water birds at the reservoir. Moreover, there are jackals, red deer and fallow deer.

Our tour to Uda-Walawe National Park starts with a drive through Singharaja Garden and leads us towards the southern coast. We check in at » Grand Udawalawe. We have a small lunch there and also plenty of time to spend at the swimming pool or to just relax on the veranda of the hotel afterwards. Our guided safari tour through the park begins at 2:30 pm the same day or at 5:30 am the next morning. After a leisurely breakfast we will then start our return journey or the onward journey to your next destination.
